Create your account
Sign up at ads.thespoollist.com with your email, a username and a password.
Build your listing
Add your logo, what you do, your service area, phone and email. Confirm your phone with a code from an authenticator app.
Go live
Pay by card: $50 for your first year (then $60 a year) or $5 a month. Automatic checks run as soon as you pay, and your listing usually appears in the apps and on the web within minutes.
Your email address and phone number are verified before your listing goes live. You pay on the website, by card through Stripe, not in the app.

Launch offer: your first year for $50 per listing on your first yearly plan (then $60/year; listings added later are charged pro rata at $60/year), or $5/month. Tax added where applicable. Physical, hands-on trades only.
Per listing. Add more listings for more services or locations at the same price each.
Yearly plans renew every year and monthly plans every month until you cancel. Cancel online anytime; your listing stays live until the end of the period you paid for.
Want to reach further?
One listing payment covers up to 50 mi (80 km) around your base. Each extra 100 mi (161 km) adds two listing payments, up to 350 mi (563 km) — for more, contact us. Before you pay, the advertiser portal shows your coverage as a honeycomb on the map.
Changing the coverage of a paid listing is prorated: a bigger area is charged now for the rest of your billing period and starts once that payment goes through; a smaller area is credited to your next invoice. Tax added where applicable.

What kinds of services can I list?
Physical, hands-on local trades: plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, roofing, carpentry, tiling, fencing, gardening and tree surgery, cleaning, pressure washing, handyman jobs, moving, appliance repair, mobile mechanics, welding, upholstery, sewing and alterations, and more. Licensed trades list with a valid licence number, which is shown on the listing. AI, apps, web design, marketing and other online-only services can't be listed.
Where will my listing appear?
In The Spool List apps for iOS and Android and in the web app — in “Services near you” on Discover, on the Fabrication Grid map and in the Services directory — plus a public page for your business on thespoollist.com.
Who sees my listing?
People whose location falls inside the service area you set: a radius around your base, or your city. Both buyers and makers on The Spool List can find you.
Where do I pay, and is tax included?
You pay on the website, at ads.thespoollist.com, by card through Stripe Checkout — not in the app. Prices exclude tax; where tax applies, it is added at checkout.
Is my listing checked before it goes live?
Yes. Automatic checks run as soon as you pay, and some listings also get a quick look from our team. You confirm your phone number with a code. We don't vet the quality of anyone's work, so listings are clearly marked as paid.
How do customers contact me?
They tap to see your phone number or email and contact you directly. The Spool List does not take bookings or handle payment for services — you agree the work and the price with your customer.
What stats do I get?
Impressions, listing views, calls, emails, website visits and directions taps, day by day, with a monthly summary by email.
Can I pause or cancel?
Yes. Switch any listing off or back on from your dashboard whenever you like, and cancel online at any time. A cancelled listing stays live until the end of the period you've paid for.
Do I need to download the app?
No. You create and manage listings, see your stats and handle billing at ads.thespoollist.com with your own username and password.
Can I list more than one trade or location?
Yes. Each listing covers one service and one service area. Add more listings for other trades or locations at the same price each.
Can my listing reach customers further away?
Yes. A listing covers up to 50 miles (80 km) around your base for one listing payment. Each extra 100 miles adds two listing payments: 150 miles (241 km) = 3, 250 miles (402 km) = 5 and 350 miles (563 km) = 7 — for example $15 a month or $180 a year for 150 miles. People see your listing when they are inside your radius or inside one of the 50-mile honeycomb cells your coverage includes. Need more than 350 miles? Contact us.
